Julie is currently a staff writer for the Boston Globe newspaper, but more importantly the former fiancee of Felix Pappalardi. The what? You read it correctly. Up until a fateful day in 1962, just three weeks before their wedding, Julie was engaged to be married to Felix. She broke the engagement off(We have a copy of the published newspaper announcement with photo!).

Currently Julie is working on a book about Felix in his pre-rock'n'roll days when he was very involved in arranging and conducting at the University of Michigan as part of the Gilbert and Sullivan Society (view Julie's e-mail to Vio here). As of the writing of this posting, she has just submitted the last part of the manuscript. Her book is due for publication and release in 2001 so stay tuned.

We will be posting various items provided by Julie dealing with her relationship with Felix. She promises that her book will be a positive contribution to Felix' legacy. Your webmasters intend to hold her accountable to that promise. Julie is also the proud mother of singer-guitarist Juliana Hatfield, who is currently a star in the world of alternative music and has fronted such groups as Blake Babies.
